Little Miss Mississippi was established 23 years ago by the late Gladys & Rusty Crawford of Pearl. From 1995-1997, the late Karen Campbell of Byram was the Director. Sundra Parker co-directed the pageant system for a year and became the Director in 1998.
Over the years, Little Miss Mississippi has gradually changed from a Total Glitz Pageant to a more Natural Pageant, with competition including Beauty and Casual Wear. Only contestants who live in the State of Mississippi or have parents residing in the state are eligible to compete. Preliminaries are held throughout the state during the year with divisions for infants up to twenty-year-old including boys up to twelve years old. The State Pageant is held in late summer in Jackson.
Today, the title of Little Miss Mississippi is THE TITLE coveted by all our contestants. LITTLE MISS MISSISSIPPI is the most prestigious pageant title you can hold in the State of MS.
Sundra has been involved in pageants for 27 years, first as a Pageant Mom, then as a Director, and also as a judge on the local, state and national levels, in both Glitz and Natural.
Married for 27 years, Sundra and husband Paul live in Florence and have four children all of whom have competed in pageants. They are blessed with four grandchildren who also compete in pageants.
